(A ghastly amount of) Grubby Children
As a ghost, you can only obtain delicious sweets during halloween night: You want as much as you can get tonight.
But the children are greedy, and they see you've got more candy than they do. Run, quickly, before they get you.

Controls:
- Change button - SPACE ("Gameboy": SELECT)
- Select button - ENTER ("Gameboy": START)
- Movement - WASD or arrow keys ("Gameboy": D-pad)
- Knock on doors - Q or J ("Gameboy": A)
- Short speed boost - Also Q or J ("Gameboy": A)
- Scream/Scare - E or L ("Gameboy": B)
(On web versions, the game might lag for a bit the first few moments (and sometimes when you're hit? for some reason) , I honestly have no idea how to fix it. It might be an unavoidable part of the Godot web export? If it's not going away, you could try downloading the windows exe-version. I'm really sorry about it, hope it doesn't ruin the experience)
Made for the GBJAM 12 in about a week. Was quite fun to make, and I didn't even overscope that much this time! Best of luck to all other submitters and developers, and thanks a million for playing the game!
Potential questions I can think of:
- You can ONLY knock on doors with a candy symbol on them. The game starts when you knock on one of the two doors in the beginning section.
- The "Speed boost" uses one candy and stacks slightly, and wears off completely within half a second. You can't use it with less than 2 candies.
- Yes, the lag exists. It should go away after a little while, otherwise, blame Godot.
- If anything else broke: Please comment and I'll fix it if/when I'm able. It's a game jam entry though, it might not get much more love from me :)
